Help an Active Duty Family Rebuild After a Devastating Tornado
On December 9, 2023, a tornado swept through Clarksville, TN, leaving behind a path of destruction that shattered countless lives. Entire neighborhoods were leveled, homes were reduced to rubble, and tragically, several lives were lost. In the aftermath, families began the arduous task of piecing their lives back together and searching for a sense of normalcy. Sadly, many are still struggling to find it.
Among those affected is the Miralrio family, who are still desperately trying to rebuild their lives after this catastrophe. Compounding their heartbreak, they face a daunting battle with their insurance company and their home builder, making their recovery process far more challenging than they could have ever anticipated.
When the tornado struck, Mrs. Miralrio acted swiftly, gathering her two young children and huddling in a bathroom as the storm raged outside. When the winds finally subsided, she emerged to find her neighborhood in ruins. The Miralrio family lost most of their possessions, including two paid-off vehicles, and items from close friends and family that any amount of money could never replace. To add to their pain, Mr. Miralrio was deployed at the time of the disaster, leaving Mrs. Miralrio to navigate this tragedy alone.
Now, the Miralrios are in a heartbreaking situation. They now have car notes after receiving insufficient funds to replace their vehicles. Also, their insurance company has decided to cease funding the remaining repair costs. They cite preexisting structural issues and will not proceed with further repairs until the home is brought to code. Following this shocking news, they were advised to seek an inspection from a structural engineer. They listened, and after two inspections done by structural engineers, the findings were devastating: their home was NOT built to code, placing them under an unbearable financial burden. The cost to bring the home up to code and remaining repairs is estimated at an overwhelming $137,000, and without the insurance support they so desperately need, they are left with the impossible task of paying for the cost to repair their home, the mortgage on an unlivable home while also covering rent for their temporary housing.
This GoFundMe has been created to provide urgent financial relief for the Miralrio family as they navigate this completely unexpected, challenging time. They need your help to rebuild their lives while they work to find a permanent solution and a safe place to call home again.
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a significant difference.
Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support. Please share their story and help us rally around the Miralrio family during this difficult time. Together, we can help them find hope and healing.
