Rebuild Hope for the Flannery Family

Hello, my name is Katie,
I'm writing this for my parents and sister Madison. My parents, Julie and Dave Flannery, lost their 5th wheel last night, 5/8/2025, to a fire that started from their refrigerator, which was right in front of the door in and out of the trailer. It was the first thing you saw when you walked in. We are lucky they got out, and my sister wasn't home. She got home from a friend's house right after to find this scary scene. My mom was able to grab their dogs while my dad made attempts to put the fire out, but the fire extinguisher did not seem to help. It was a propane-run trailer. They have lived in the 5th wheel while building their home themselves since September 2019; it has been a very slow process. The house is not liveable at this time, they need help building to speed up the process. They lost their beloved cats to the fire. My sister's cat unfortunately did not make it. I believe there are only a couple that were outside and not harmed when this happened.
My parents ran out in pajamas (my mom was asleep when it started and my dad luckily was awake; my mom did hurt her feet getting out) and slippers. They lost their phones, computers, cameras, clothes, pets, food, their bed, shower, and irreplaceable items—just everything. It has been a heartbreaking night. If anyone can help or even just get the word out that they are in need, it would be greatly appreciated. The community of Bandon is amazing and is already trying to come together to figure out how they can help my mom and dad. My mom's birthday is this Sunday and their 42nd wedding anniversary (May 11th). I am just glad that they made it out and are okay.
Anything that is donated to them will go to them help with what they lost, and go towards the house they have been building. If anyone can donate as well to help the cat Dot who is currently at Bandon Vet, she is the only cat who got out of the trailer that night, she is badly burned on her paws, has a fever and needs IVs. We hope for good news in the morning regarding her health
