Support a Family in Need After an Unthinkable Loss

On a day that began like any other, disaster struck our friends the Catons in a way that we could never have imagined. Their beloved home, filled with years of treasured memories and the laughter of loved ones, was ravaged by a devastating fire. In a matter of minutes, everything they had so carefully built—their sense of security, comfort, and belonging—was reduced to ashes. Today, I am reaching out to our community, friends, and compassionate strangers, asking for your kindness and support as they begin the long and challenging journey to rebuild their lives.

We are grateful beyond words that no one was physically hurt. Still, the loss is staggering. Years of photographs, family heirlooms, cherished keepsakes, and everyday essentials are gone. Max’s toys, school supplies, clothing, shoes, furniture, appliances—every item that made their house a home has been destroyed and this doesn’t account for the emotional toll this is taking on Steve, Rachel, Max and their two pups, O’dell & Kai.

Catons never imagined being in a position of needing to ask for help, even though they are some of the first people to offer help to others. However, after the fire, they face an uphill battle to rebuild and recover. Insurance coverage only goes so far and does not come close to covering the full extent of the damage or the cost of starting over.

Every dollar raised through this campaign will go directly toward helping our wonderful friends recover and rebuild. Your generosity will ensure they have warm beds to sleep in, clothes to wear, and a safe place to call home once again.
