Rebuild Hope for the Agee Family
Donation protected
Hey everyone! My name is Melody, and I'm raising funds for my parents, Ted and Jane Agee. On Thursday, January 23rd, their lives have forever been changed. The house they've worked so hard for, caught fire and was gone in less than two hours. A home that took fifty years to build, walls built of laughter, doors to so many memories, floors covered with happy and sad tears, endless love pictured on the walls, and sentimental items displayed in each room. The home of creativity, all gone. The little ole 'house in Axton that built us.
I know a lot of you guys know them personally, by being family, friends, coworkers, maybe Ted has fixed/repaired something for you, Jane may have crafted you a seasonal gift or even sewed a quilt for your new baby. I know my mom sends loved one's money for their birthdays for a "little happy meal". Just little gestures of how big their hearts are. Just to know them is something special, because everyone knows how truly selfless and altruistic kind of people they are. My whole life they've been this way, putting themselves on the back burner for others in need. I know at times my brother and I have gotten after them for helping too much and ignoring their own needs. But sometimes you just can't stop these two hardheaded parents of ours... lol
It was very hard to watch my childhood home burn, watching some of your life memories burn away. I cannot even fathom how my parents feel right now after this devasting event. A little spark from the dryer has changed their whole world.
Shannon and I have gotten a lot of requests and questions of how to help my parents and someone suggested Go Fund Me and here I am pouring my heart out for them. My parents have never asked for help, it's always been their mission to help others first and not to be on the receiving line. I can't tell you how many times that the anonymous donation has actually came from them. They ran out of the uninsured burning house together with only the clothes on their back. I would bet if you needed their last shirt, they wouldn't think twice about giving it to you.
I want to thank you all for your prayers, donations, food, money, gift cards, coffee and especially the endless love for my amazing parents Ted & Jane Agee. I'm so proud to be their child and one day hope to grow up just like them!
