Rebuild Hope for Neisha's Family in Jamaica

Our names are Tamara and Ken Culver, and we are retired college professors from Waco, Texas. Last week, we were on a Royal Caribbean cruise, and this kind, strong woman named Neisha was our room steward. When we learned that she and her family were from Jamaica and that the Cat 5 hurricane Melissa was about to hit, we asked for the names of her family members so we could pray for their safety.

We continued to talk with her, but she couldn't receive any updates for several days because the power lines were down. Finally, she received a text from her son that her elderly mother, daughter, and grandson were in shelters because their homes were destroyed. Neisha owns one of the homes. They had no insurance because it's so hard and expensive to get. She had many tears over the course of the week but continued to hold her head up and work hard. We gave her a little money but knew it was just a drop in the bucket compared to what she and her family needed. That's when we thought about a GoFundMe.

She was so grateful that strangers would do this for her, but we saw the need and hope others will too. We have more in common than we do differences, no matter where we live or who we vote for. Neisha will receive 100% of the money deposited into this account! Please consider whatever amount you can give, no matter how big or small.
