Rebuild Hope for Jennifer Fields and Her Son
Donation protected
Hello, and thank you for taking a moment to consider supporting this family during an incredibly difficult time. My name is Christina Means, and I am honored to be one of Jennifer Fields closest friends; we are soul sisters <3 I am also close to her husband, Dustin Fields, as his younger sister was my best friend growing up in middle and high school.
TRIGGER WARNING: Domestic Violence & teen death
Jennifer dedicated her life as a loving, nurturing stay-at-home mom—devoted to her children with her whole heart. Let me be clear, she viewed and treated her husband's children as her own. She raised them since they were babies, loving them unconditionally and treating each child with kindness and unwavering dedication.
History: On December 21, 2024, I received a frantic call from Jennifer urgently pleading with me to come get her and her 3-year-old son out of a domestic violence episode in her home. I immediately dropped everything and went to go get them. This wasn’t the first time I had received a call like this, but I swore to myself that it would be the last. When I arrived, there was an altercation between her and her husband, Dustin Fields, which I did not engage in. I quickly got her son in the car along with a few bags, and Jennifer. We pulled away while Dustin continued yelling. Though she escaped her abuser, she was only able to take a few items and her biological son because she wasn't legally permitted to take her step-sons. Multiple CPS reports were filed on behalf of Jennifer’s step-children by myself and other concerned members of the community during this time, but tragically, they were never investigated.
Around March 12, 2025, Jennifer filed an Emergency Protective Order with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office against Dustin, seeking protection not only for herself and her son, but for her beloved step-sons as well. When the court date arrived on March 26, 2025, Dustin claimed he had not been served, and the hearing was postponed for April 2, 2025. However, over the weekend, Frankfort experienced its second worst flood in recorded history, forcing another postponement due to extreme conditions. Court resumed on April 23, 2025 via Zoom, but not all parties were present due to a clerical error, and the hearing was rescheduled yet again for May 7, 2025.
Early Wednesday morning, on April 30, 2025, a devastating fire claimed the lives of Jennifer's two beloved step-sons, ages 13 and 15, as well as their loyal family dog, Tank. This tragedy has shattered their world in unimaginable ways. The fire remains under investigation, with many details are not yet released to the public. Dustin Fields has been arrested for first-degree arson in connection with the fire. Authorities are building their case, with more information expected in 16-20 weeks.
There is considerable speculation and misplaced blame circulating from people disconnected from the situation or responding from their own grief. Those closest to the family have witnessed the truth throughout the past four years and remain fiercely protective of those involved. Jennifer and her young son have lost everything—their home and all its irreplaceable contents: treasured baby memory books, cherished blankets, yearbooks, daily essentials like clothes and shoes, and the toys and books that brought joy to her children.
She and her preschool-age son now face the enormous challenge of rebuilding their lives from absolutely nothing. We are asking for your compassion and support to help Jennifer and her son find hope and stability again. Your donation will go directly toward rebuilding their home, replacing essential items, and helping them navigate this heartbreaking journey. If you feel moved to help, please consider contributing—no amount is too small. Your kindness brings light into their darkest hours and reminds them they are not alone. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion and generosity.
