On behalf of the Naughton family, we are asking our generous Douglas community to come together for two people who have spent their lives caring for everyone else.
Friday and Judy Naughton, long-time and deeply loved members of the Douglas, Wyoming community, recently experienced a devastating structure fire at their home. The fire destroyed their shop and caused severe damage to their house, leaving them displaced and facing an overwhelming road to recovery. What once was their safe place is now unlivable, and rebuilding will take months.
For those who know them, John and Judy are the kind of people who show up for everyone.
Judy has served Douglas for more than 10 years as a nurse—first at the only Urgent Care in town, and now at Mountain Lodge Nursing Home. She has cared for hundreds of families, offering comfort, compassion, and steady support during some of their hardest moments.
Friday, a hard-working construction worker and handy man, is equally beloved. He’s the kind of man who will give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. He is friendly, kind, and admired by everyone who crosses his path. Sadly, on top of the fire, John was recently laid off for the winter, leaving the couple without one of their primary incomes at the worst possible time.
The cost to repair their home is expected to be at least $20,000, not including the many personal items and tools lost in the fire. Insurance will not cover everything, and the damage is extensive enough that they cannot live in their home for months.
Friday and Judy would never ask for help themselves—they are humble, hardworking, and always put others first. But right now, they truly need their community.
We are asking for support to help them rebuild their home, cover repair costs, replace essential items, and stay afloat during this difficult transition.
Any donation—no matter the size—will make a tremendous difference. If you cannot donate, please share this page so others may help.
Our community has always been strong, compassionate, and generous. Let’s show Friday and Judy the same love and support they have shown Douglas for so many years.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping this wonderful couple begin rebuilding and return home.
