Hi Everyone,

My name is Engria and as many of you know, it's been a challenging time for everyone in Jamaica as Hurricane Melissa has caused unimaginable devastation.

On behalf of my 100-year-old mother who resides in Shrewsbury Logwood in Westmoreland, Jamaica, I'm appealing for your assistance as our family tries to restore a safe home for her as she is also blind and bedridden. I waited anxiously for more than two days after Melissa passed to make contact with my mother's caregiver and thankfully learned that they survived the hurricane. However, the roof of her home was 90% destroyed along with her furniture and personal items. My mother is now sleeping in a makeshift bed in her living room under extremely uncomfortable conditions while sharing the space with her caregiver and neighbors who also lost their homes. Unfortunately, we are a small family with very limited resources to support my mother through this emergency.
