Rebuilding Hope After Fire- Mary Kenney & Drew Banahan
Donation protected
On July 20 around 1:30am, Drew woke up to loud “popping” sounds and went into quick action to save his family, knowing those were not sounds meant to be going off at that time of night. He got his pregnant wife, Mary, and son Gunnar (5) out of bed and out of the house along with Drew’s mother, Sunni, who lives with them. They quickly realized that their home was on fire and by the time the fire trucks arrived, they knew nothing would be left. Luckily, Autumn (11), their daughter, was at a friend's house and did not have to experience the horror. Their 2 dogs made it out safely, but their 2 cats and two birds perished in the fire.
Anyone who knows Mary and Drew know that they are hard-working, honest, and caring people who put their family and others first. They are expecting their 3rd child (a baby boy) in January.
This is going to be a long road with a lot of waiting for insurance. Mary’s entire office is a loss, all their belongings, family heirlooms, children’s toys, and material memories. They continue to praise God that Drew woke up and everyone got out in time but this will be a long road.
Anything you can give will be put to use for long-term rental housing or hotels, clothes, food, school supplies, and rebuilding their life.
Even if each person can give $1, we can make a significant impact. I believe in the power of many doing a little bit and we all know Mary would be right here doing this for any of us who may be facing this type of tragedy.
