Rebuild Hope for Diana After Devastating 4th of July Flood
Donation protected
A message from LiLi, Diana's daughter:
My mother, Diana Smith, has suffered the most tragic 4th of July of her life. The devastation she has endured both emotionally and physically is something out of a nightmare.
As a powerful storm ravaged our community, my mom was left stranded for hours in total darkness. Clinging to the carport light fixture of our flooded home with two of our dogs on a kayak for hours, she listened helplessly to the frantic cries of our neighbors. One had to carve his way out of their tin roof with a pocket knife. Another was found in a tree with a broken arm.
Once the water receded, authorities reached her and brought her to safety. But by then, our home and nearly everything in it had been destroyed. Aside from a few salvaged photos, there is nothing left. We are starting from scratch.
My mom worked so hard to be able to call Hunt her home. Through years of sacrifice, she built a life there. That house wasn't just a place to live-it was her lifelong dream, and it's now gone.
I am beyond grateful that my mom is alive. But the emotional trauma, PTSD, and overwhelming loss she now faces breaks my heart. She is a generous, God-fearing, and independent woman-someone who has always believed in pulling herself up by her bootstraps. But right now, she needs help.
If you're able, please consider donating to help her begin rebuilding her life. Every bit of support means the world. Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and prayers during this unimaginable time.
Her Daughter,
LiLi <3
