On October 28th, 2025, Jamaica experienced one of the most devastating hurricanes of all time. This hurricane has left my family in the parish of Falmouth, Jamaica, wondering what they will eat and how they will keep themselves and their children warm due to there being no electricity and no water. These conditions are unsustainable. Their homes have been flooded, some are without a roof, and vehicles are damaged. Each of them is having to start from scratch due to the severe damages Hurricane Melissa has caused. Both my brother and my sister have infants that are under the age of one year, which concerns me the most, and my elderly great-grandmother who has Alzheimer’s and cannot care for herself. This is also devastating for me and hurtful knowing that my family is back home facing these hardships while I am safe and warm in the States of America and cannot do much for them. This is painful and heartbreaking, being unable to assist them all financially to rebuild their homes and the lives they once lived. I am asking for a donation to help my country and my family rebuild what was lost to tragedy. All funds raised will be split among my father, brother, sister, grandmother, uncle, and cousins to rehabilitate their lives.
