Hello everyone,

My name is Ashalee Brown, and I’m asking for your help to rebuild my mom’s home in Slipe, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, one of the communities hit by Hurricane Melissa.

The storm tore through our area and left unimaginable destruction behind. Roads are flooded; only 4x4 vehicles can reach the community. My mom’s house is completely flattened, except for her bathroom that’s still standing.

She has lost everything - her furniture, clothing, food, and even her fowl coop, where she raised chickens to help support herself and her children. My mom is a single mother of four, and she has worked tirelessly her whole life to provide for us. Now she’s left with nothing but hope to start again.

Many of our neighbors are in similar situations - some lost their roofs, others their entire homes. I’m raising funds to help my mom rebuild her home and restart her small chicken farm, as well as replace essentials like furniture and food.

I’ll also be contributing my own savings, but I can’t do it alone. Every bit of help makes a difference - whether it’s $5, $10, or simply sharing this page to spread the word. A share can reach someone who might be able to help, and that means just as much.
