Early in the morning of 8/8/2025 a devastating house fire changed everything for one of our Westwood families. If you’ve ever attended a Fairview School, there’s a good chance you know someone who has lived in this house. Ron and Jamie kouns have raised generations of kids here over the last 18 years. This family has opened their doors to anyone in need, always offering kindness, love, and support to others. 

Now, they are the ones in need.

The fire has left them with nothing. Their home, their belongings, and even both their vehicles are all gone. Most heartbreaking of all, their beloved family dog, Bella, who heroically woke the family to warn them — did not make it out.

With God’s grace, the family made it out safely, and for that we are so thankful. But they are now starting from scratch. This is a large family, and they will need help with everything — clothes, shoes (in many different sizes), essentials, and eventually a place to call home again.
