Help a Teacher Rebuild After Hurricane Beryl
Hi everyone,
I am reaching out on behalf of a dear friend, Jennifer Simpson, who has fallen on hard times due to Hurricane Beryl and subsequent challenges. She is a hardworking teacher for BISD, dedicated to her students, but recent events have left her in urgent need of help.
Hurricane Beryl caused $8,000 worth of damage to her home, yet the insurance payout was only $1,000—nowhere near enough to cover the necessary repairs. As a result, she’s been forced to live in a house deemed uninhabitable, with exposed sheetrock, moldy air, and no ceiling insulation.
Things got worse recently when an electrical issue left her home without power entirely. On top of this, she’s been recovering from her second surgery in six months while managing mounting medical bills, food, and everyday living expenses.
She is doing everything in her power to stay afloat, offering services like babysitting, baking, tutoring, running errands, and more to earn extra income. Despite her best efforts, the financial burden has become too heavy to carry alone.
This GoFundMe is to help her:
• Cover the costs of home repairs, including fixing the electrical issue.
• Support basic needs like food, bills, and medical expenses while she recovers.
Your support, whether through a donation or by spreading the word, will make an enormous difference. She’s not asking for a handout—just a little help to get back on her feet.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story. If you can donate or share this fundraiser, it would mean the world to her.
Let’s come together and show Jennifer that she’s not alone in this!
