Rebuild Hope: Aid Jerry and Joan's Ministry

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

My name is Adam, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for support for two of the most selfless people I know — my uncle Jerry and aunt Joan — as they work to rebuild their clothing ministry and continue serving their community.

On July 27, a devastating flash flood swept through Elsberry, Missouri, and completely destroyed the 5,000-square-foot building where Jerry and Joan operate their nonprofit clothing ministry. This ministry has been a lifeline for people in Lincoln County and the surrounding communities — offering clothing, basic necessities, and a listening ear to anyone in need.

Jerry and Joan bought this building a few years ago after their retirement. Instead of slowing down, they poured their time, energy, and savings into creating a place where those struggling could find dignity, hope, and practical help. They have given so much of themselves to others — and now they’re the ones who need a helping hand.

The flood took everything: flooring, drywall, utilities, appliances, computers — you name it, it’s gone. But Jerry and Joan are determined to rebuild. Most of the work will be done by their own hands, with help from volunteers who are willing to pitch in. Still, the costs of materials and replacing essential items add up quickly, and they can’t do it alone.

This is where I’m asking for your help. Whether it’s a financial contribution — no matter how small — or volunteering time and skills in basic remodeling, every bit will make a difference. Your generosity will help this faith-based ministry rise from the ruins and continue its mission of serving those who need it most.

My family has always been there for me, and I’ve seen firsthand the love and compassion Jerry and Joan pour into their community. This is the most selfless work I’ve ever witnessed, and I want to do everything I can to help them get back on their feet.

If you’re able to give, share, or spread the word, it would mean the world to me — and to them. Together, we can help turn this heartbreak into hope.

Thank you so much for reading and for standing with Jerry and Joan as they rebuild
