Hi Everyone,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. The past few days have been unimaginably hard for a very special family — one that many of you may know, or at the very least, have been touched by in some way.
On Friday, June 20th, 2025, my best friend, Jennifer White, received a devastating call at work from a neighbor. Her family home — the house that’s been in her family for over 100 years — was on fire.
If you know Jen, you know this home. It’s been more than just four walls — it’s been a refuge, a second home, and a safe place for countless people over the years. After her parents passed away, Jen, her husband Aaron, and their two children moved in to preserve its legacy and continue the tradition of love that filled every room.
Despite their efforts to update the house, no insurance company would cover the home due to its age. That didn’t stop them from trying. But on that tragic Friday, a century of memories was almost lost.
Thanks to incredible neighbors — including Joe from California Non-Stop Towing, who ran into the home searching for their son Nolan (who, thankfully, was safe at summer school), and the amazing team at Rich’s Autobody, who rescued their two beloved dogs — everyone made it out safely.
But the fire spread fast.
When Jen and her family arrived, all they could do was hold hands and walk through what remained. Their son Nolan’s room was completely destroyed — every belonging, every memory gone. The fire also consumed much of the kitchen and dining room. The heartbreak in Jen and Aaron’s eyes was something I will never forget.
Despite the loss, they’re holding onto hope. Little miracles have emerged: family photos found unharmed, and even great-grandma’s rolling pin — a symbol of generations of love — was discovered intact. Slowly, they’re salvaging what they can, but the road ahead is long and heavy.
Many of you have asked how you can help. This is how:
We’re asking for your support to help rebuild this historic family home.
Jen and Aaron don’t have insurance. They don’t have the funds to rebuild. But what they do have is a community — people like you who know the power of family, of legacy, and of love.
Even if all you can offer is a check-in, a helping hand at the house, or sharing this message — every bit counts. We are aiming to rebuild not just a home, but a place that continues to be a safe haven, a warm kitchen, and a place of healing and hugs, just like it has always been.
My heart is broken for them — but I believe, together, we can help them rise again.
Please consider donating, sharing, or reaching out in any way you can. Let’s give this beautiful family the chance to create more memories and continue their story.
With love and gratitude,
Nicole
