Hello everyone. My name is Flo Dawdy and I’ve lived on John’s Island all my life and worked on the island as well. I am 58 years old and have a brother whom I live with. He is 55 years old.

So let me tell you why I’m here and that may explain the reason for this GoFundMe. 1:30 AM Monday, March 24th, our house burnt. It is salvageable and we have already begun making some repairs. It was a grease fire and it was my fault. I will take ownership of that. I totally forgot I put a pot of grease on the stove to make French fries. And the next thing I knew, the kitchen was in flames and tons of smoke. We have heavy damage to the house. Every wall is streaked with soot. Everything is covered in soot.

So I’m asking for monetary donations to basically rebuild our home, and to buy appliances and new furniture.
