Hurricane Melissa Relief for Jamaica

My name is Dr. Kay Sterling, an Advanced Practice Nurse Leader and President of Humanitarian Without Boundaries (HWB), a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving those in need. My heart is heavy for the people of Jamaica—my homeland—who are struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. The storm has left widespread destruction, with families—especially women, pregnant individuals, and children—displaced and without access to food, clean water, or shelter.

Through HWB and in partnership with faith-based, humanitarian organizations, and caring individuals, we are raising funds to help rebuild homes and provide essential relief supplies, including food, hygiene kits, and clothing. Every contribution brings hope and helps restore dignity to families who are starting over after this devastating disaster. Together, we can help them rebuild their lives and communities with strength and compassion.

I am originally from Jamaica and currently reside in the Chicagoland area (United States), where I serve as an Advanced Practice Nurse Leader and President of Humanitarian Without Boundaries (HWB). HWB is a nonprofit humanitarian organization that collaborates with community partners in both the U.S. and Jamaica to respond to urgent needs.

As our organization finalizes its own financial account, donations for this relief initiative are being received through my personal account and will be used exclusively for the stated humanitarian purposes. I will personally travel to Jamaica to help oversee the distribution of relief items and rebuilding projects, working directly with trusted local partners to ensure transparency and impact.
