Hello! Prayers and warm thoughts for all of Cali right now are so appreciated. So much has been taken, and I’m trying to hold on. I am educator Nita, and have been praying for a miracle and trying all I know because of the trials I am facing due to life, the fires, and an emergency move necessary. I am a California based mentor, teacher, and regional college recruiter for thousands of students each year. I essentially am a traveling motivator who aids students in life and educational choices. I volunteer with multiple schools, community centers, and districts each year with students.

In life, I strive to live by the Golden Rule—treating others as I seek to be treated. I cherish working with kids, have dedicated my life’s work to it, and have educated on the West Coast/LA/the U.S. for 15 years plus. Children quite literally are our future; giving back is second nature. I go into diverse spaces to ensure all students get an equitable chance and access to education. From Compton to Calabasas—I am there to inspire our next generation. Now I could sure use some help and inspiration myself.

2024 was already a rough year with back-to-back trials for my family and me. But this LA fire has been absolutely devastating in multiple ways—from the loss of life to job changes to moving and now starting over elsewhere. I adore California and have dedicated myself to educating its students. This week alone, so much has changed in an instant for so many of us. I've never done any sort of GoFundMe, and typically am the one giving altruistically for these efforts, but things change. I humbly need assistance.

I am forced to start over, ship critical needs (clothes, furniture, student items; teaching supplies, and core items I can salvage from Los Angeles) to a safe area, and rebuild from scratch housing wise. It is a lot. I have to travel to California; it is not safe yet and the air quality is poor. But I must salvage what I can to start anew when possible.

Any help is greatly appreciated towards a move that will cost thousands- from storage to moving/shipping costs, imperative relocation needs, medication, and core bills as I seek a new job and place to stay.
