Hi all, my name is Dora, daughter of Francisco and Alicia. I’d first like to thank you for taking the time to read my parents' story.

I’ve created this GoFundMe in hopes of helping my parents with living and medical expenses but primarily for rebuilding their home after they suffered a house fire.

On October 4th, 2024, while visiting my parents, we became aware of a fire in their back patio. The first thought my dad had was to try to extinguish the fire, but unfortunately, the fire reached a large cleaning aerosol can, causing it to explode. The explosion caused my dad third-degree burns to nearly thirty percent of his body. The fire caused damage to a significant part of the structure of their home and smoke damage to the whole interior of it. All of their belongings were lost as well. It hurts to see them lose their home of over 30 years in which we have grown up.

Doctors are hopeful that my dad will have a full recovery with limitations, but this will all take time, months if not years. He has already gone through two surgeries and is set to have a third surgery.

Up until that day, my dad was working as a truck mechanic, and because of the extent of his injuries and them being located mainly on his arms and legs, this is a job he may not be able to perform even after recovery.

Although my parents do have insurance, contractors have already informed us that they are underinsured and the cost to rebuild their home will be greater.

All donations will go to helping my parents rebuild their home, as well as covering their basic needs in the meantime.
