Rebuild Home and Hope for Woody and Sue (Valerie and James)
Donation protected
On April 21st, my grandparents’ home caught fire and was deemed a total loss. This is the home I grew up in, my home on those weekends and breaks from college, and the home my grandparents had just allowed me to move back into on April 3rd. My grandparents, James “Woody” Wright Jr. and Valerie “Sue” Wright, have worked very hard for everything that they have. They’ve spent their lives building a warm, welcoming home not just for family, but for everyone who came through their doors.
Months after recovering from Hurricane Helene, now, in a matter of minutes, everything they worked for is gone.
We are beyond grateful to be safe, but we’re left to start over. We are navigating insurance, loss, and an unexpected journey of rebuilding. While insurance may cover some of the damage, there are still urgent needs it won’t cover, and the process ahead will be long and emotionally taxing.
We’re asking for your support to help us:
• Secure temporary housing for them and myself
• Replace essential daily items like clothing, toiletries, and household basics
• Offset unexpected costs as we wait for insurance decisions
• Build a cushion for relocation and recovery
• Support our mental and emotional peace through this overwhelming time
Anything helps—whether it’s a donation, a prayer, or simply sharing this link. We’re trusting in God and the kindness of our community to get through this. Thank you for helping us rebuild our peace and their home.
