Help Restore My Friend’s Health, Smile, and Quality of Life
My good friend Matt Doughty has spent most of his life pushing through pain and adversity while still showing up for the people who matter most to him: friends, family, and his community.
On the outside, he continues to show up to work, family events, and daily responsibilities pretending everything is okay, but the reality is that he has been quietly battling serious health issues, severe dental damage, and ongoing mental health challenges relating to C-PTSD from many years as a firefighter.
After years of putting his health last, he finally went to Clear Choice Dental in Roseville for a full mouth and jaw scan. The results were devastating.
Due to past facial injuries, dental trauma, and years of trying to manage the pain on his own, his teeth and jaw are now in critical condition. Doctors found:
- Brittle, cracked, and severely damaged teeth
- Advanced gum issues
- Missing fillings and teeth that cannot be repaired with root canals or bridges
- Jaw damage from a childhood bike crash that never healed correctly
- Active infections that could potentially spread into the bloodstream
The dental team explained that without treatment, the situation could become life-threatening.
The only safe solution is a full-mouth dental reconstruction and jaw surgery. This includes removing the damaged teeth, repairing and resetting the jaw, and replacing his teeth with implants.
Insurance will not cover the procedure, and financing options were unfortunately denied.
This surgery would do so much more than fix teeth.
It would:
• Eliminate serious infections and protect his long-term health
• Repair his jaw and relieve constant pain
• Restore his smile and confidence
• Improve his ability to eat and live normally again
• Help him continue rebuilding his mental and physical health
If you know him, you know he is the kind of person who helps others without hesitation. He is a retired firefighter; putting others first is literally in the job description, but it's time he puts himself first for once. Asking for help is incredibly hard, but right now he truly needs the support of his community.
Any donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward his surgery with Clear Choice Dental.
If you prefer to donate directly to the dental clinic you may do so by calling Samantha at Clear Choice Dental, 6 5 1 6 0 5 6 9 4 4
If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much.
Let’s help him get the care he needs and give him the chance to smile again.
