Bring the Hale Back to Lahaina

Hi, my name is Candice! I am starting this gofundme to help support the owners of Haleakava Kava Bar whose Lahaina location was taken by the Maui Wildfires.

Kaitlin (my sister) and Aaron are the owners of Halekava which was located on the Corner of Front Street and Prison Street. Haleakava Lahaina was built from nothing and was turned into a premium destination where patrons came to enjoy a few cups of kava and partake in the spirit of Aloha. Any night of the week you could enjoy local entertainment, dancing, karaoke, and a great family-friendly atmosphere. A true pinnacle of the local community and a tourist hotspot. Haleakava is known for always giving back where they have sponsored local sports teams for rugby, baseball and football and have even teamed up with Maui Food Bank to help provide for those in need.

Now, Haleakava and Kaitlin and Aaron are in need. In the Maui Wildfires, their Lahaina location was destroyed.

Immediately following the fire, instead of looking for solutions for their own loss, Kaitlin and Aaron completely immersed their entire lives into the recovery efforts of the island they call home. They opened their Kiehi location as a donation location, made several deliveries to those that needed assistance close to them and have taken truckloads of donations to Lahaina. They also set up a gofundme, NOT for themselves, but for their employees who have lost everything. Now, it's time that we step in to help them. Haleakava has a long way to go, with insurance denials and red tape surrounding any government help, recovery isn't going to come easy. Please help if you can to restore this treasure back to the community.
