Rebuild after Flooding for Brian Nickel
Donation protected
We are raising funds to help a dear cousin, Brian Nickel. Brian, a 44-year-old father of three children (ages 14 and twins age 12), was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease. The Sanford flood caused by two dams breaking also hit his home on Wednesday morning and left 9 feet of mud on the first floor. The house is standing but most of inside needs replacement including furnace, furnishing, electrical box etc. His homeowner’s insurance covers water leaks, backups etc. but it will not cover this flooding.
Brian recently lost his job in the IT world because his memory is waning. (Having Huntington’s is like having ALS, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s – simultaneously.)
The funds raised will help Brian rebuild and hopefully help with some medical expenses. Every dollar helps. I am hoping fellow Michiganders, friends and compassionate strangers will offer support and help. If you cannot donate at this time, please share this request with your network of friends and pay it forward. He is a strong human being but even the strongest can only handle so much devastating news.
