Rebuild Remedy Fields after Storm Éowyn
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Amy and I have been establishing a small but flourishing flower and herb farm just outside of Glasgow, called Remedy Fields. At the end of my first season on this land, I put a huge portion of my income and weeks of unpaid labour into building a polytunnel for the site, only for it be destroyed by Storm Éowyn on Friday 24th January.
Having just been completed in December, it now needs to be entirely rebuilt with new materials. I desperately need help in funding this process, as I was only just about to release merchandise to cover the cost of the original tunnel! They are essential structures for any farmer growing in Scotland to protect some of their most valuable crops from the weather and to try and extend their growing season. I now need to construct a new one ASAP before Spring.
The money I raise will also go towards putting in more windbreak measures and buying extra storm-resistant elements for the new tunnel, to try and stop this happening when the next hurricane-force wind comes around.
Here at Remedy Fields I am trying to cultivate a space that participates in a more sustainable, interconnected and hopeful future for the surrounding community and the florists/customers that I serve. A safe future for humans on this planet requires us to develop economies with more local, ecological producers at their heart. I so want to be part of this future as Remedy Fields, but I need your help to afford to make this possible.
If you want any more information about what I do, please see https://www.remedyfields.co.uk or get in touch with me @remedyfieldsglasgow
Please follow to keep an eye out for artist prints and tote bags that I will shortly be releasing on my website in order to raise further funds.
Thank you so much in advance for your support!
