I am opening this account on behalf of my fiancée. Here is her story:

My name is Edelyn Barra Liray, his fiancée from Luna, Tagapul-an, Samar, Philippines. I’m writing this with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit, reaching out to you after surviving one of the most devastating experiences of my life—Typhoon Opong.

When the storm hit our island, it didn’t just bring rain and wind—it brought destruction, fear, and unimaginable loss. Our home was swallowed by floodwaters. We lost everything: our shelter, our belongings, even our basic access to food and clean drinking water. For days, we endured hunger and thirst, clinging to faith and each other. The flood was so high, it felt like the sea had come to claim our land.

But we are still here. And I believe that with your help, we can rise again.

I’m starting this fundraiser to rebuild not just our home, but our lives. Every donation—no matter how small—will go toward:

• Basic necessities: food, clean water, clothing

• Rebuilding our shelter with concrete and two floors to survive future flooding
