On September 16, 2024, a severe storm caused unexpected and severe flooding in Carolina Beach, destroying many of our special local businesses. From restaurants and shops to family-run stores that have been a cornerstone of our community for years, the impact has been heartbreaking. The floodwaters damaged buildings, destroyed inventory, and forced businesses to close their doors, putting the livelihoods of our hardworking business owners and employees at risk.
