Rebuild CariKu Art Lab: Support Carolina's Studio
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I’ve always been self-sufficient and never imagined I'd need to ask for help in this way. But today, I’m reaching out because the situation is different—I’m at risk of losing my beloved art studio.
This space means everything to me, and I’ve poured my heart and soul into it. Any support, big or small, would mean the world right now.
Thank you so much for considering lending a hand.
My name is Carolina, and I’m an artist and the owner of CariKu Art Lab (www.cariku.com), a pottery studio and creative space located in Black Mountain, NC. I have been working in the art world for over 30 years, specializing in bronze sculptures, handmade ceramics and pottery. Unfortunately, my studio was severely damaged by Hurricane Helene, and I’m now seeking support to rebuild what was lost.
Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, I moved to North Carolina to pursue my passion for art and establish a space where creativity could flourish. CariKu Art Lab has become more than just a pottery studio—it’s a place where I hold workshops, share my love for ceramics, and connect with the local artistic community. The impact of this hurricane has not only disrupted my work but has also left a void in the community I serve.
I am raising funds specifically to rebuild CariKu Art Lab, replace damaged equipment, and purchase essential supplies so I can continue creating art and offering workshops. Here’s a breakdown of how the funds will be used:
Studio Repairs: Rebuilding walls, fixing the leaks on the wall, and restoring water to the space.
Materials: Clay, glazes, and other necessary supplies to restart production.
Community Workshops: Supporting the return of pottery classes that help foster creativity and learning in the community.
Financial struggle: Paying employees and instructors, studio expenses and marketing online.
My goal is to raise $25.000, and every donation—big or small—will go directly towards these efforts. I’m incredibly grateful for any support you can offer, whether it’s through a donation or sharing this campaign with others. Thank you for helping me rebuild my artistic home and community.
