On Sat 6/28 Brandi & Josh Stallons experienced a massive flash flooding that quickly filled the entire lower level of their split-level house. The master bedroom & bathroom and their youngest son's bedroom, plus a second living space and kitchenette are located down there. The water broke thru the French doors leading in from outside, flooding the entire space up to within 1 foot of the ceiling! What started out as fun-filled day with family, quickly turned to disaster! Luckily everyone made it out safely before the raging water rushed in. But in a matter of 30 mins they were left homeless!!
Brandi is a a Hopkinsville City Councilwoman and a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst while Josh is a member of the Christian County Sheriffs Office. Both are well-known & respected in the community and are a very hard-working young family, with 3 kids -- 2 sons & a daughter, plus 2 dogs & a cat.
Because the house is not in a flood plain flood insurance was not an option for them. So there is no insurance coverage for any of the damage. The entire lower level will need to be gutted down to the foundation and re-built! Everything in there is a total loss. The water rose above the electric panel and the power had to be turned off at the street -- so even groceries are a loss. 24 hours later, the water has not yet subsided and will need to be pumped out.
Please help Brandi & Josh! Any amount you can spare for this family will help!
