Rebuild Boho Kidz

Hello Local Community, Family, and Goat Friends. As most of you are aware, we lost over half of our Nigerian Dwarf herd Tuesday due to a flood. We had taken precautions based on the information from the National Weather Service and local forecasts. Unfortunately, the predictions were off, we were having record-breaking flooding, and when we went out Tuesday morning, the girls were already surrounded by swift waters that had broken off of the main river.

At this time, after trying everything we could to find a way in, we had to make the call to come back later when water levels were estimated to start lowering. The flooding ended up getting worse and ultimately taking the lives of all the goats. This was all happening as the river was rising and starting to leak through holes in the levee right next to our house. Maximum capacity was 24 feet for the levee, and we set a crest record of 23.6 feet. We ended up evacuating late in the evening on Tuesday to ensure our safety.

I've never felt so helpless. My goats are my passion. Whole dam lines are gone, feed washed away, equipment broken, seasons of retaining doelings in my herd name erased, and a buck brought in that I will never get to see kids from. Our herd is literally back to square one, and I was really unsure how or if I would move forward.

I'm setting up this GoFundMe because I've had people/goat friends reach out and ask how they can help Boho Kidz rebuild.

I appreciate all of the support and messages. It has really made me want to keep moving forward with my goat herd.

With Love,
Whit from Boho Kidz
