Rebuild Black River, St. Elizabeth - Hurricane Melissa Relief
Who I am:
My name is Howard Williamson, and I am the founder of JerseyJam Inc., a registered nonprofit organization based in Trenton, New Jersey that supports Caribbean communities through cultural events, youth programs, and emergency relief initiatives.
Where I'm From:
Although JerseyJam is based in New Jersey, my roots and family ties extend deeply into St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, where many of my relatives and friends still live.
My relationship to the community:
I am personally connected to the people of Black River, one of Jamaica's oldest and most historic towns, and I've seen first hand the devastating impact of the Hurricane Melissa, which caused major flooding, home destruction, and damage to local schools, roads, and small businesses.
How the funds will be used:
All donations will go directly toward:
- Rebuilding damaged homes and community buildings
- Providing food, clothing, and clean water to displaced families
- Assisting local schools with supplies and recovery support
- Supporting community rebuilding projects and small business recovery
Every dollar raised will be used transparently, and updates will be shared to show exactly how the funds are helping families rebuild.
Together, we rise and rebuild.
Thank you for your support and for standing with the people of Black River during this time of need.
