Rebuild Bill & Janet Teeple's garage!

As if Covid weren't enough, the long ultra-cold snowstorms here in Fairfield, Iowa were the last straw for Bill and Janet's ancient garage, and the whole thing collapsed under the weight of snow and ice. We've been volunteering to clean up the terrible mess, and it's taken more than a week to clear away all the rubble and destroyed items that were inside.

A new small garage will require pouring a concrete slab (about $4000), installing a French drain to eliminate the flooding alongside the yard (about $3000), and a quick prefab one-car building (about $10,000 from Menards).

We've all seen how much love and attention the Teeples have put into ICON Gallery and Iowa Contemporary Art for more than 20 years now, using up most of their personal savings (ICON donations barely cover basic operating costs). But now their home is in need, along with Janet's life-long efforts to rescue the destitute dogs and cats of Fairfield.

We urge everyone who can give to pitch in and help us raise these funds for a new garage. Bill and Janet have given us all so much -- let's encourage all our friends and neighbors to give back to them and help get this new non-Covid year started with hope and generosity!
