Rebuild Aston Hill Bike Park – Help us finish the trails

Donation protected
Aston Hill is coming back to life and we’re aiming to raise £5,000 to support this next phase of the build.

Aston Hill is coming back! Over the past months, we’ve cut more than 2km of trail corridor, bringing one of the UK’s most iconic riding locations back to life after years of closure.

The foundations we need are now in place. What comes next is the stage that turns the trail corridors into rideable downhill trails.

If you’ve ever ridden Aston Hill, or want to, this is the moment to help bring it back.

How your support helps:

£10 > Helps keep the build moving and supports day-to-day work on site
£25 > Contributes to shaping and finishing sections of trail
£50 > Supports feature building and materials for key sections
£100 > Helps push forward major elements of the build, including surfacing and features
£250+ > Makes a significant impact on accelerating the final phase of the build

Every contribution goes directly into building and finishing the trails.

Where We Are Now

We’re now entering the final build phase:

  • Building and shaping the trail features and the flow of the trails.
  • Surfacing the first two trails we'll open to make them usable year-round.
  • Clearing the car park and the areas that will be used by visitors to the park to create a unique visitor experience that Aston Hill hasn't been able to offer in the past.

What We’re Working Towards

With your help and support, we expect to complete this phase over the next 12 weeks.

This will allow us to open with over 2km of downhill trails that are:

  • Surfaced to make the riding experience on Aston Hill more predictable and the trails rideable in all conditions
  • Bringing back downhill trails and trail features that have been missing in the Chilterns since Aston Hill Closed in 2020.
  • Downhill Trails built to create a unique rider experience just 40 minutes outside of London and in the home counties. Bringing the trail experience closer to you!

Why We’re Asking for Support

This rebuild is being delivered through a mix of:

• Community funding (donations and memberships)
• Strategic partnerships
• Grants and commercial support

We’ve already worked through an earlier funding gap and have further funding scheduled, but as with many projects at this stage, timing and cash flow really matters.

This is the phase where momentum is most important, and where community support and your donations have the most direct impact on how quickly we can complete the build of Aston Hill Bike Park.

The rebuild of Aston Hill is well underway.

We have cut the trail corridors and we are into the feature shaping phase that will create the new trails. We need your donations to help keep the momentum, pay for fuel and surfacing and get the build across the line so we can open this summer.

Every donation counts and thank you so much for your support.

What This Project Delivers

Aston Hill will provide:

  • A long-term, managed bike park within 40 miles of London
  • A space for gravity riders of all levels to participate in outdoor activity
  • A sustainable facility with all revenue reinvested back into maintenance and development

Bike Park Chilterns is Community Interest Company (CIC) which means it’s not-for-profit, so your donations go straight into the development of Aston Hill Bike Park.

What Happens Next

We will of course continue to share updates as the build progresses. Don’t forget to sign up to our newsletter and follow progress across our social media YouTube, Instagram and TikTok as we have a really exciting major commercial partnership announcement coming up in May.

The good news is that we’re close, the trail corridors are cut, the layout of the park is in place. This final phase is about bringing it all together, getting the features shaped and the trails surfaced and ready to open and that’s where your support makes a real difference. Thank you!

We also have a major partnership announcement coming in May, which will support the next stage and bring further visibility to the project.
