Appalachian Wyld Botanicals lost their studio warehouse space from hurricane helene. This is where all of their materials, labels, herbs, packaging, & production was done at. Everything from Appalachian Wyld botanicals was lost in this flood. We need your help to rebuild.
Hi Savannah here, owner & operator of Appalachian Wyld Botanicals. We are a small scale herbalism company in Western North Carolina that has been effected by hurricane helene. It has taken me 16 days to gather the words to say.. to be honest I’m not even sure if I still have the words. Part of me wishes I wrote this during the first week when my mind was still on an emotional rollercoaster. Honestly I still am, but now in a different phase of the ride. Im still trying to wrap my brain around the chaos and still trying to find the right words to say, but as I’ve learned I may not ever say the right thing and that’s okay. I never wish for anyone that I love so dearly to ever go through or witness the things that my community and I have seen In these past 16 days. Helene rocked our world, I couldn’t bare to ask for help when those around me were suffering more. When those around me had lost their houses or families. It pains me to even create one of these go fund me’s but in reality, I too am stuck in the devastation that Helene caused. She came in and took my livelihood. The way I supported my family for the past 4 years. The way I have supported my two amazing employees Sophie & Lauren, who I honestly admire and think of them as my sisters. This business wouldn’t be anything without them! They have contributed to this small business just as much as I have. They have always looked after it as their own. This is far more than just myself and my family.. it is a ripple effect. I know we have lost so much as a community, and I am just one of them. Helene flooded my workshop in Hendersonville North Carolina by 7 ft. This is the space where we were growing app wyld. This is the place where all the product was made and inventory was kept. All of our supplies, materials, labels, EVERYTHING to this business was in this space. It had taken 6 days for the water to finally recede. When we were finally able to make it into the workshop, the space was filled with sludge, black mold, and a horrific smell. All of my belongings to make app wylds amazing product was mangled, broken, muddy, & destroyed. My 4 years of work and investments were destroyed. This feeling is gut wrenching. It has taken me 4 days just to throw my belongings onto the side of the street. Nothing has been salvageable. The bacteria filled waters contaminated and molded all of my belongings. To rebuild my business and to support my amazing employees during this time of significant loss as the bills keep rolling in we do need to raise funds. These funds will go directly towards Sophie & Lauren’s livelihoods and to help rebuild app wyld. It’s gonna take a lot of hard work and a lot of community support to help us out. we believe in the good things around the corner, it’s just another road bump to make us stronger. Please donate and share xoxo Savannah & the App Wyld Team
