Life Changed in an Instant; Help Me Start Over After a Devastating Crash

Hi, my name is Anna and I’m reaching out with a heart that’s still shaken, but so grateful to be alive.

In the early morning hours of Monday, July 8th, around 3am, a drunk driver crashed into my home, barreling through the front of the house and into my living room while I was inside. My car, parked in the driveway, was also completely destroyed.

By some miracle, I walked away physically unharmed. But in an instant, I lost both my home and my car and everything I knew as normal life.

What makes this even harder to process is this:

The driver was intoxicated and driving on a revoked license.

And now, neither her insurance nor mine will cover any of the damage to my home or my vehicle. I’m left with nothing covered and no clear path to recovery without help.

The house has been declared structurally unsafe and boarded up. My car is totaled. Most of my belongings; furniture, essentials, keepsakes, are damaged or destroyed.

Right now, I’m staying with my partner in Sarasota, doing my best to stay grounded while I navigate next steps, process the trauma, and figure out how to rebuild.
