For years, my father has maintained a small family home in Mexico that he inherited from his parents. Rather than leaving it empty or seeking high profits, he chose to use the space to support those just starting out. He has always charged very little rent, opening the doors to young families and couples who need a helping hand and a safe place to grow.

Yesterday, tragedy struck when a fire broke out, destroying half of the house. While we are immensely grateful that everyone is safe, the damage is devastating. The fire consumed the children’s bedroom, leaving the young family currently living there without beds or clothing for their little ones.

As a daughter, I am starting this fund to support two urgent missions:

​Immediate Relief for the Tenants: We want to replace the children’s beds, clothing, and essential belongings lost in the fire so they can find stability during this frightening time.

​Rebuilding the Home: We want to help my father repair the structural damage and rebuild the rooms that were lost, with the ultimate goal of getting this young family back into their home as quickly as possible.

​My father has spent years using this home to look out for others; now, I am hoping we can look out for him and the family he sponsors. Any contribution—no matter the size—will go directly toward construction materials and essential supplies for the children.

Durante años, mi padre ha cuidado una pequeña casa familiar en México que heredó de sus padres. En lugar de dejarla vacía o buscar grandes ganancias, decidió usar este espacio para apoyar a quienes apenas comienzan su camino. Siempre ha cobrado una renta mínima, abriendo las puertas a parejas jóvenes y familias pequeñas que necesitan una mano amiga y un lugar seguro para crecer.

​Ayer, la tragedia nos golpeó cuando estalló un incendio que destruyó la mitad de la casa. Aunque estamos inmensamente agradecidos de que todos estén a salvo, los daños son devastadores. El fuego consumió la habitación de los niños, dejando a la joven familia que vive allí sin camas ni ropa para sus pequeños.

​Como hija, estoy iniciando este fondo para apoyar dos misiones urgentes:

​Ayuda Inmediata para los Inquilinos: Queremos reemplazar las camas de los niños, su ropa y las pertenencias esenciales que perdieron en el incendio, para que puedan tener algo de estabilidad en este momento tan difícil.

​Reconstrucción del Hogar: Queremos ayudar a mi padre a reparar los daños estructurales y reconstruir las habitaciones perdidas, con el objetivo final de que esta joven familia pueda regresar a su hogar lo antes posible.

​Mi padre ha pasado años usando esta casa para cuidar de los demás; ahora, espero que nosotros podamos cuidar de él y de la familia a la que él apoya. Cualquier contribución, sin importar el tamaño, se destinará directamente a materiales de construcción y suministros esenciales para los niños.
