My name is Yoselin, I am from La Guaira, and what you see here is my house, my building, my people. And a few hours ago, two massive earthquakes, magnitude 7.2 and 7.5, just seconds apart, tore through the coast of Venezuela, the strongest to hit the country in over a century. My building, Residencias La Riviera, in Playa Grande, Catia La Mar, my home, my neighborhood, my hometown, was severely damaged. By the grace of God, my family is alive, but tonight they are homeless, with no electricity, and roads blocked with nowhere nearby to go. Our neighbors are facing the same thing.

I am raising these funds for my own home and the community I grew up in. I will personally be receiving and managing the funds, and here is exactly how they will be used: paying a structural engineer to evaluate my building, funding the cleanup of the debris from the building and my house, and covering the repairs my home urgently needs, since I currently have no walls and the inside of my house is destroyed (you can see this in the photos I've shared). Your support will also help cover basics like food, shelter, and supplies for my family during these uncertain days, and help all of us begin the long road of rebuilding.

I will personally make sure every dollar reaches what it's meant for, my home, and the neighbors who have shared this life with us for years. We have lost a building. We have not lost each other. With faith, and with your help, we will rebuild.

Mi nombre es Yoselin, soy de La Guaira, y lo que ven aquí es mi casa, mi edificio, mi gente. Y hace unas horas, dos terremotos masivos, de magnitud 7.2 y 7.5, separados por segundos, sacudieron la costa de Venezuela, los más fuertes en golpear al país en más de un siglo. Mi edificio, Residencias La Riviera, en Playa Grande, Catia La Mar, mi hogar, mi vecindario, mi pueblo, sufrió graves daños. Por la gracia de Dios, mi familia está viva, pero esta noche no tienen hogar, no tienen electricidad, y las vías están cerradas sin ningún lugar cercano al cual ir. Nuestros vecinos enfrentan la misma situación.

Estoy recaudando estos fondos para mi propio hogar y la comunidad en la que crecí. Yo seré quien reciba y administre los fondos directamente, y así es exactamente como se usarán: pagar a un ingeniero estructural para evaluar mi edificio, financiar la limpieza de los escombros del edificio y de mi casa, y cubrir las reparaciones que mi hogar necesita con urgencia, ya que actualmente no tengo paredes y el interior de mi casa está destruido (esto se puede ver en las fotos que he compartido). Su apoyo también ayudará a cubrir lo básico como comida, refugio y suministros para mi familia durante estos días de incertidumbre, y nos ayudará a todos a comenzar el largo camino de la reconstrucción.

Yo personalmente me aseguraré de que cada dólar llegue a donde debe ir, a mi hogar, y a los vecinos que han compartido esta vida con nosotros durante años. Hemos perdido un edificio. No nos hemos perdido los unos a los otros. Con fe, y con su ayuda, vamos a reconstruir.
