Bringing back the monsoon forest to semi-arid Rajasthan

Donation protected
We are two people, Jaidev from India and Ina from Germany, who want to reforest deforested areas in India. Long time ago, large areas in the state of Rajasthan were cut down for agriculture and firewood. The former monsoon forest is now bald and abandoned. We want to reforest these areas. This will provide more shade, stabilise the water balance and allow nature to flourish again.

Last July we planted the first 500 saplings. Photos and videos of the planting campaign, tree portraits and progress reports can be found on Facebook at Green India Team and on Instagram at Green India Team .

In their first year, the little trees are still fragile and do need care. They already have drip irrigation but still protection from grass and wild growth. We therefore have a cow and her calf. They are not allowed to graze on the land as they would eat the young trees, too. That's why we have help on site to cut or pull out the grass, then to feed it to them.
But labour costs money, also in India. A contribution of €100 would help us cover the maintenance costs until the next monsoon. If we raise more, we will use the rest to buy new trees next July.
