He has spent his entire life helping others and now, he needs us.

Hi, my name is Niki, and I’m the owner of The Green Table, a plant-based restaurant built on community, compassion, and showing up for one another.

Over the years, I’ve met a lot of incredible people—but every once in a while, someone comes into your life who stands out in a way you can’t ignore.

This is one of those people.

I am raising funds for a dear friend of mine—a lifelong vegan, former police officer, devoted father, and one of the most selfless human beings I know. He has spent his life protecting others, both people and animals. He has quietly helped and saved countless animals over the years, simply because his heart is wired for compassion.

And now… he needs us.

My friend has just lost his home in a devastating fire and has no help to start over. No insurance, no savings.

This comes after already surviving the 2024 hurricanes, where his home was completely flooded. He lost nearly everything then—his belongings, his car, and his stability. With little to no help, because again, no insurance to cover the flood, he worked tirelessly to rebuild, pushing himself so hard that he ended up needing emergency back surgery.

Still, he never stopped showing up for others.

Just months ago, when a neighbor’s house caught fire, he and his daughter ran straight into danger—helping save that man’s life and fighting the fire before emergency crews arrived.

That is who he is.

A protector.

A giver.

A real-life hero.

And now, everything he was trying to rebuild… is gone again.

The damage to his home is severe—this is not minor. The structure, ceilings, insulation, and everything inside have been destroyed. He is once again starting from nothing.

He is also the president of the Dunedin Highlanders football team, a pillar in our community, and someone who constantly supports others and small businesses—including mine.

If you know him, you know he would give the shirt off his back for anyone.
