Rebuild a barn

Donation protected
On November 22nd, 2015, my parents (Tim and Pauline), left their job in Wayland, MA. That job was the farm manager of Mainstone Farm, a job which my dad kept for 25 years. Without any financial support from his boss, and essentially getting the "boot" my parents were able to find another opportunity to continue to do what they love.
In the small town of New Sharon, Maine my parents were approved to purchased a small twenty acre turkey farm, this essentially was the money my parents were counting on to support them.
If anyone had ever seen this farm before my parents purchased it, they would know how run down it was, and how much work it needed.
They spent the next 8-10 months working twelve to fourteen hours a day, sinking the last of their hard earned money into the farm, with nothing but hope, and the desire to succeed to push them on.
Even with the odds against them my parents accomplished what they set out to do, they were able to fix up, clean out, and open the turkey farm, however; spending all their money on rebuilding the farm, they were left with very little to survive on, and wouldn't be able to start making money until the turkeys started to grow.
If anyone has ever seen the look in their mothers eyes as she tells you that she doesn't know how they are going to survive, I would say you are pretty lucky, because it breaks your heart.

Now through all of this my parents still defied the odds, and little by little the farm grew. They started making turkey pies, turkey sausages, selling chicken and turkey breasts, and now they make their own soup.

Since the town of New Sharon is quite small, my mother spends all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at farmers markets (as far as 2 hours away) just to make enough money to live off of.

Still through it all they managed to succeed even if it wasn't much; however, during the months of January and February of 2017 Maine received over three feet of snow within a week. The barn that my parents had been using to store all their turkeys collapsed, which was a devastating loss because some of the turkeys didn't make it.

My parents just priced out what it would cost to build a new barn (they would be doing the work themselves with some help from family), and with everything it came out to $30,000, and that doesn't include the price for a feed system, which they desperately need since both of my parents have arthritis and carrying the 50-100 pound buckets is getting harder for them.

So I'm here to ask you to consider donating some of your hard earned money to two of the most hard working parents in the world. Give them a chance to rebuild what they lost, and continue living their dream.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and myself, and my family appreciate anything you can do.
