WHAT I NEED HELP WITH
I am asking for your support to help me rebuild and relaunch my jewellery brand Reborn from Sweden after a devastating year that forced me to shut it down just days after launching.
Your contribution will help me restart production, cover essential costs, and bring my designs and collections back to life.

The Story Behind Reborn from Sweden
Before I share what happened this past year, I want to share why my brand is called Reborn from Sweden, because the name itself holds the heart of my journey.

Reborn from Sweden reflects the chapter I am living now. It represents renewal, resilience, and rebuilding from the ground up after a devastating year. It is a reminder that no matter how many times life breaks you, you can begin again.

It also reflects my design philosophy. I want to bring traditional jewellery techniques back into modern light. I want to tell the rich stories behind old jewellery forms from across the world, why they mattered, what they symbolised, and how they were worn by real people through history.

Traditional jewellery has always held deep meaning.
It adorned kings and queens. It was passed down by grandmothers.
It marked weddings, festivals, ceremonies, and milestones. It was worn as protection, pride, identity, beauty, and memory. Every culture created pieces that carried emotion, craft, faith, and legacy.

My dream is to preserve these stories through modern design.
To honour old craftsmanship while giving it new form and new life.
To keep heritage alive in a world that moves too fast and forgets too easily.

Just like the name Reborn, every piece I design carries the spirit of beginning again, elegant, meaningful, and rooted in stories that deserve to live on.

About Me
My name is Rashmi. I am 42 years old and originally from India. I lived in Finland for three years before moving to Sweden in 2015. The Nordic region shaped the most important years of my life. Here, I learned to build a life on my own terms, far from cultural expectations. I grew into an independent, single woman in a place that values freedom, creativity, and equality.

Now, at 42, I find myself rebuilding again, defying age norms, societal expectations, and everything this year has thrown at me.

My Story
In October 2025, everything changed.

For a full year before this, I worked quietly and passionately on a dream: Reborn from Sweden. I sketched designs, found ethical artisans, sourced metal responsibly, created packaging by hand, and finally, in the first week of October, I launched my online store.

One week later, I lost my corporate job.

Because of Sweden’s unemployment rules, anyone applying for benefits cannot run a business at the same time. Even tiny activity or income disqualifies you. So in the same month I launched Reborn from Sweden, I had to shut it down so I could receive the small unemployment support I needed to survive.

It was heartbreaking. It felt like a dream collapsing just as it started.

In the past year I have applied to more than 500 jobs, and the job market rejected me over and over. My confidence is at its lowest. I feel like I lost everything at once, my job, my stability, my pride in my professional skillset, and the business I fought so hard to launch.

But now, as my unemployment benefits are coming to an end, I can legally restart my business. I can rebuild the dream I was forced to pause. And that is why I am turning to GoFundMe.

WHAT I HAVE ALREADY BUILT
Despite everything, I built as much as I could:

My first collection HERITAGE is a celebration of pearls, hand hammered textures, gemstones like lapis lazuli and black onyx.

It blends traditional Indian techniques with Scandinavian minimalism.
Each piece carries hours of care, storytelling, and soul. Here are some of my designs from HERITAGE that are available on my website

Reborn from Sweden is not just a brand.
It is my purpose and my way back to myself.

MY COMMITMENT TO ETHICAL CRAFTSMANSHIP
  • Artisans with integrity
  • Ethical silver and gold suppliers
  • Small workshops that treat their workers well
  • I refuse to work with manufacturers who wanted to mass produce my designs or cut corners.

My values are simple:
  • Artisans must be paid fairly
  • Craftsmanship must be respected
  • Sustainability first
  • No mass production
  • Small batch designs only

Every piece is crafted in limited batches of 10 pieces or less.
This protects the environment, supports artisans, and rejects fast fashion.

MY NEXT COLLECTION: Inspired by the Chinchpeti (here is where I need your help !!)

The Chinchpeti is one of the most iconic necklaces in Maharashtrian (from India) culture.

Its Story
Chinchpeti means tamarind (chinch) and seed (peti), referring to its tiny bell-like elements. It became prominent during the Peshwa dynasty. It is worn in weddings, festivals, ceremonies and is often passed down through generations.

My Reinvention
My collection reimagines the Chinchpeti through a Scandinavian lens, clean lines, minimalist form, soft geometry, and modern metalwork. My vision is to preserve the essence of the original, keep its emotional and cultural core, reinterpret it in a way that fits contemporary Scandinavian everyday wear and give old designs new life, purpose, and meaning.

It blends two cultures I belong to, India and Sweden.

MY COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY
Before moving to Sweden, I ran a non profit called Art Pitara in India.
I taught art to children in refugee camps, slums, and disaster zones.
I also created a YouTube channel to guide young creatives from India and Pakistan entering design.

The community does not owe me anything for this.
But at one of the lowest points of my life, I am choosing to ask for help.

I have always been a fighter. I have crossed borders, broken gender barriers, lived alone, and built a life in Sweden. I want to keep contributing through creativity and kindness.

Thank you for reading my story.
Thank you for giving me hope.
And thank you for helping me bring Reborn from Sweden back to life.

Your support means more than I can ever express.
