Rebuilding Kringles

Hi Everyone,

It has been a week of trials to say the least. In response to all the support we are receiving we wanted to reach out with our thoughts and what our hopes are going forward.

The Bartlett & Jackson Fire departments response time was within minutes of the tone and the fire. We are extremely grateful that they were able to contain the blaze to our property and that no one was injured considering the severity of wind. As the past week has come and gone, we have met with the Fire Investigator who has concluded the fire was an electrical event.

We want to thank Chalmers Insurance in North Conway for assisting us with the initial steps in this process. This was truly a devastating loss to us, when we purchased the business Diane’s first words were “I just want to feed people”. And feed people she has! Our customers are the best!!! We have received so much support from the community and other businesses in town, so much LOVE!

If you have not yet seen our sign, the plan is to rebuild. We know it will not be the same building as it was before, but we hope that no matter what, it will have the same atmosphere of caring.

When Covid hit, it was with the stimulus check that started the “wall of love”. Many have donated to the wall and many have used it, we were able to save those slips and the wall will come back!

Rebuilding takes time and insurance does not cover everything. We are asking if you are able or inclined to donate anything at this time to assist with the unknowns, it would be greatly appreciated. We are approaching the holiday season and understand that times are tough for all, so don’t feel any kind of obligation, we will make it, our spirit isn’t broken. We would love to have some of your stories, a letter, a card, or a picture of you at the store, that would be fantastic as well.

Fill us with ideas! What is your favorite pizza/sub? What would you have liked to have seen on our menu? Should we keep the building yellow with orange trim? The old Kringle’s sign is still around; should we save it for inside the new building? Send us your love and suggestions to PO Box 1268, Glen NH 03838. PS: We will consider ALL suggestions; we’re not sure we’ll get to use them all but let us know what you think :-).

From our family to yours: We hope as Thanksgiving and Christmas comes around you are as thankful for the ones around you as we are. And bring on the New Year!
