In August 2024, a diverse group of individuals, united by their love of ceramics and with the generosity of neighbors, opened a pottery studio in the heart of Germantown. They named it Rebel Potters and sought to bring together people of all ages and skill levels to teach, learn, practice, and explore their love of ceramics in a safe, communal space.
One year later, Rebel Potters has become a thriving hub of creativity, offering various ceramic classes and open studio hours seven days a week. Thank you to everyone who helped us grow so quickly.
Thank you to everyone who donated to our initial campaign to raise money for a second kiln. Only July 3, that dream became a reality. Through gallery sales, a silent auction, private events, and an offsite pottery sale, we raised enough money to buy a second kiln!
Onto phase two, the quest to acquire two more pottery wheels. Each wheel is $1,500. We will continue to raise funds to reach this next milestone.
As we continue to work towards achieving nonprofit tax status, we have created several options to give back to our community. We have a limited series $8 community workshop this summer on Friday afternoons, and also a small scholarship fund to help defray the cost of attending this workshop. We also offer private events in which we donate 10% of workshop fees back to local groups.
We hope that you, the community, will help us reach the new goal of acquiring two pottery wheels. Every dollar counts, and all the funds raised will go towards the purchase of the two wheels.
If you want to make an in immediate impact, please consider the following donation amounts:
- Half sponsorship of one pottery wheel for $750
- Full sponsorship of one pottery wheel for $1,500.
We at Rebel Potters thank you for your generosity and overwhelming support of our vision. Please visit us soon and often.
