Help! Rebel EMERGENCY Surgery & Intensive Care
Donation protected
Rebel Kitty came to me in the fall of 2012 after one of the worst times of my life. I raised him from a kitten (bottle and all) and he’s been my rock ever since. When I met my husband Dave, Rebel instantly bonded with him and has been his source of love and strength.
Rebel is my heart and soul and it pains me to write this but we may almost lose him because of the insane costs of veterinary care.
Rebel started vomiting more often so I took him to the vet on 8/30/23. They suggested I take him back the next day for an ultrasound. The vet called with the news that he has pancreatitis and the tissues in his abdomen are also inflamed and that he has a thickening of the bowel. Without continued IV care and antibiotics, he will die.
I am taking him to Red Bank in Hillsborough as the vet here at Happy Pets went above and beyond for us to get us a reduced rate of care by allowing us to take medicines with us so that Rebel can make a full recovery in a state of the art veterinary hospital.
Some of you might recall that Jones made a successful recovery after his time at Red Bank in January of this year. Never in my life did I ever expect to have two cats taken gravely ill from situations beyond my control in the same year so I am asking for your help.
I’ve already paid out 2k+ just to make sure Rebel can stay on this earth and give him a shot to recover. Dave and I are absolutely gutted right now because Rebel is our baby and our light. I cannot believe the horrible timing of this as Dave is out of work and I am just returning to work in the fall. I can’t catch a damn break.
Please help us help him live. If he can make it through these next few days, his chance of survival is greatly increased and he can live a normal life with a modified diet.
