Rebekah's Fight: Narcolepsy and Homelessness
Donation protected
Donate to Rebekah Gorrill, a person living with Narcolepsy and facing homelessness.
I've had Narcolepsy since I was in second grade but I was not diagnosed until after high school ended and I turned 18. The first sign of Narcolepsy was my second grade report card where my teacher marked that I was falling asleep in class. Fast forward to the present day where I've tried multiple medication combinations including a clinical trial and I'm still working on adjusting them and testing them out.
I became unemployed because my job was too difficult to manage with Narcolepsy. I moved in with family for additional family support but became homeless because my dad filed a restraining order against me in April 2024 ending in April 2025. My dad filed the restraining order against me because he did not trust that I was job searching and was upset because he was struggling with bill payments, and I could not contribute. I do not think returning home after the restraining order ends is a good idea which means I need to find a new place to live.
My 4 fundraising goals are:
1. Achieve stable housing
2. Purchase a car
3. Pay off my debt
4. Become financially stable enough to attend college
