Support Rebekah's Fight Against Cancer

Dear friends and family,
I am reaching out to you today on behalf of my dearest friend, Rebekah Munoz-McCutchen, a true warrior, loving wife, and mother who is facing the challenging battle against breast cancer. Rebekah is not just a survivor; she is a testament to strength, faith, and resilience. As her friend, I have witnessed her courage in the face of adversity, and now I am reaching out to our community to ask for your support in her time of need.

Rebekah met her husband, Eric, four years ago in the midst of the COVID pandemic. After their beautiful wedding, they had plans to grow their family, but sadly experienced a miscarriage, which eventually led to IVF. In the middle of that treatment, Rebekah was diagnosed with a rare breast cancer called Lobular Carcinoma, which is estrogen driven. Immediately, IVF treatments transitioned to cancer treatments.

As of now, Rebekah has already completed 5 months of chemotherapy, 2 surgeries, and 6 weeks of daily radiation. During this time she fought cancer with her faith, exercise, and diet. She went as far as water fasting three days at a time to help reduce severe chemotherapy side effects.

As the first year of treatment was coming to a close, Rebekah returned back to work, doing what she loves, teaching. Unfortunately, four days before Christmas, Rebekah received devastating news. One of her lymph nodes had an extra-nodal extension, which is a fancy way of saying cancer “leaked” out of one of her lymph nodes and has been spreading to other parts of her body. She was given a 33% chance of cancer returning as stage 4 in either her lungs, bones, or liver. Because of this, her cancer treatment has now changed. She will be taking costly medications monthly for the next 10+ years along with additional surgeries.

Up until this point, Eric has been the sole financial provider, but the medical bills and long-term medical treatment have become quite sizable. So now Rebekah is burdened not only by the physical and emotional toll of her battle with breast cancer, but also by the financial strain that comes with extensive medical treatments.

Despite facing these challenges, Rebekah remains a beacon of hope, caring for others even as she navigates her own health journey. Her spirit is unwavering and her determination to overcome this obstacle is truly inspiring. However, no one should have to fight alone as you can see on the shirt we have created for her.

This GoFundMe campaign aims to rally support for Rebekah and her family during this difficult time. Your generous contributions will help alleviate the financial burden of medical expenses, allowing Rebekah to focus on what matters most—her health and her family.

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. Additionally, your prayers and positive thoughts are equally cherished and appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read Rebekah's story. Your compassion and generosity will make a significant impact on her journey towards healing.

May God bless you abundantly for your kindness and generosity.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Pamela Garza
