Rebecca’s Wish

In February of 2013, our beautiful friend Rebecca Haegens was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She underwent surgery and treatment and fought through many set backs and struggles but came through the ordeal with bravery, grace, humour and love and support.
She returned to work at Grand River Hospital and started living her new life, stronger, and more resilient than ever. She started to compete in runs, working out, returned to her beloved Roller Derby, enjoyed new adventures with family and friends going to concerts and camping, travelling, and just relished the time spent with her beautiful 13 year old daughter Sydney and loving husband Jeff. Life was great.
Fast forward to September of this year. During relatively routine investigations it was discovered that Rebecca’s cancer had returned and following further tests and scans, our darling Becca learned that she has stage 4 Liver Cancer with Metastasis to other organs.
This diagnosis is devastating to say the least and Rebecca is now in a fight for her life. Her Oncolgy and Medical team are investigating possible clinical and experimental trials while she has been started on Chemotherapy yet again.
As friends of this wonderful, kind, caring, beautiful woman, we are asking for your help.
We we want to help Rebecca and Sydney and Jeff go on a memory making trip of a lifetime. We want to allow them to get away as a family to spend quality time together to give them the strength they will need for the coming battle. To regroup, get lost in their surroundings, enjoy some sunsets and warm winds and enjoy some time as a family.
