Rebecca’s run for children
On October 14th Rebecca will be running a half marathon in London for Glasgow Children’s Hospital with an aim to raise £10,000 for the charity. Glasgow Children’s Hospital holds a dear place in Rebecca’s heart when her best friends 3-year-old son, Zak, was admitted to hospital in December 2022 leaving him fighting for his life. Zak was diagnosed with an extremely rare condition called Steven Johnson’s syndrome - a condition that caused him to loose 97% of the skin on his body and also suffer from a stroke due to how poorly he was. After spending 169 days in hospital, 51 days of those on a ventilator with less than 10% survival rate, Zak is now home with his family and on the road to recovery. With that in mind, it’s now time to give back and support the hospital to continue the tremendous work they do day-in and day-out to treat children in need and support families.
A personal note from Rebecca, “A huge thank you in advanced for your donation and supporting not only myself running the half marathon but my closest friends who really did live through a nightmare. I couldn’t be prouder of how much they’ve overcome as a family and forever grateful to the hospital who did everything to nurse Zak back to health. Zak truly is our little miracle. Every day he never stop’s challenging himself and all with a smile on his face. Thank you again.”
