Rebecca's Recovery: Join Her Fight
Donation protected
Hello friends and community,
On behalf of our Red Apple Café family, our fellow coworker and long time friend, Rebecca Shockley (Age 45), has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer. She has been working full-time for Red Apple Café since August 2016 and has helped build the business with her personable customer service, contagious laughter, and witty humor.
While this time of the year is supposed to be full of cheer, Rebecca will be spending most of her time in treatment starting on the 19th of December. Her treatment will consist of a 5-week long course of daily chemoradiation followed by another 2-week course of radiation in San Francisco in hopes that the cancer will shrink and her lymph nodes will respond. Depending on how she responds to this treatment, she will go through a recovery period to see if there has been any progress. She will then be assessed and, hopefully, become a candidate for surgery to remove what is left of the cancer.
In high spirits, we hope to raise money to help support Rebecca and her two children during this time of need. Unable to work for the duration of treatment and recovery, Rebecca is in need of assistance with the mounting medical bills, child care, living costs, and transportation to treatments. She is a single mother, pillar of the community, and irreplaceable member of our Red Apple Café family. We hope that she can make a full recovery and be pouring coffee to the loyal customers of Fresno/Clovis as soon as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read Rebecca's story and we thank you for any and all donations received.
