We have received $2000 in offline donations, too. Thank you!
This is Rebecca's story: I am a 15-year old hockey player. I started playing when I was 3 and it has been such a major part of my life ever since.
Over the years, I have worked hard to improve my skills and grow as a player. I am diligent with my nutrition, work out every day, do stick handling and shoot 2-3 buckets of pucks daily, and get on the ice as much as I can. Because of that hard work, I've earned the opportunity to attend Ontario Hockey Academy in Cornwall, which is an incredible way for me to achieve my goals of playing Junior and University hockey, and one day playing Pro and in the Olympics.
The academics at OHA mirror university courses, giving me more of a challenge than high school, and with 12-15 students per class, I'll have Teacher support, and for SAT prep.
I am very grateful to have received a partial scholarship which makes this opportunity even more special.
Because my parents can't use RESP money until university, we are doing bottle drives, other work in the community, selling what we can on Marketplace, and putting any profits from the custom corn hole boards that my Dad makes (in his spare time) towards this, too. I'll also be putting in half of what I make from my summer job.
This opportunity means a lot to me and would help me continue to play the sport that I love.
Any support, no matter the amount, would mean so much to me. If you're unable to donate, sharing this page would also help a lot.
Sponsors will receive regular updates on my journey.
